Filming eleven;
We Carried out some more filming of lip syncing today because our last piece of filming the setting was too windy and the singer did not seem herself. we also filmed some more random parts to fill the gaps between the lip syncing.

Filming Ten;
I took a day visit to France, therefore I thought I would take the film camera to film a few random bits. I filmed things such as traffic lights and crossings as they look different to english crossings and very random 'cute' things.

Filming Nine;
Today we filmed some more close up shots of lip syncing as we did not have a lot of shots where you could tell what she was singing. We created a peaceful setting by hanging dream catchers on to a tree behind the singer.

Filming Eight;
Today we went to the back of the school field to do some more filming. We thought that if we filmed a burning rose it would be very strong and effective, this was also very good as the rose is like the name 'Rosie'. We also filmed little bits of us being weird as it may look well put together.
In this we did not follow our risk assessment as we used hairspray to create a larger flame.
This burning of the rose was inspired by Avril Lavigne's video of 'Wish you were here'

Filming Seven;
On Tuesday, during our lesson we went to the back of the field where there is a collection of trees and filmed lip syncing and running through the trees.

Digipak research:
This digipak contained a little booklet with pictures in, this could be good for my group because we have a lot of pictures and it is hard to choose which ones, to place on our digipak. This booklet shows the band being fun and carefree within their lives. Which is just like our video.

Process of the Music Video . .
For a music video to be made this has to happen;
The Commissioner set a sends a track to 5- 10 Directors, where they then submit a treatment, this work at the moment is unpaid, The director who has submitted the 'best' is selected by the commissioner to make the video.

Filming Six;
The other day we went to our local park to film in front of a graffiti wall. However when we reached the park we had found that the graffiti had been painted over, therefore we filmed in front of some red colored leaves and a brick wall. The characters of our video dressed in modern 'gangster' clothing to link with the what we thought was going to be graffiti background.

What did I learn from The preliminary task?
When Filming the preliminary task, I realised that it wasn't as easy as it looked to sing along to a song in time and make sure that you are able to see your lip sync, but to help this you can sing out loud and film whole takes of the song so you can choose bits when editing. However the main problem was whilst editing, as we thought we would try to make a split screen, which ended up as lots of clips (although all in time) popping up everywhere and covering other bits as it was all slightly confusing as we had so many different layers.

Preliminary task . .
we created this video with three shots, whilst doing whole takes.
- A mid shot with both singers/actors involved

Case Study;
Director; Jamie Thraves
Jamie Thraves created short films during his time at university. One of his films won an award and used it as a 'calling card' to begin his career with video production company Factory Films. He began this by shooting three very low budget music videos costing roughly £5,000 each.
Most recent video - japanese popstars- song for Lisa
Currently the videos cost about £20,000 and the shooting time is 2days.
Jamie's Tips; Use the lyrics and try not to be too literal, and most importantly go with the emotions of the lyrics.

Daisy Dares You Interview . .
Georgia came across this video whilst searching through youtube :
In this video she states how she is inspired by bands such as The XX and Bombay Bicycle Club. This works well with the 'human bicycle' part of our video which was inspired by Bombay Bicycle Cub.

Survey Monkey;
Although not everyone took this survey seriously, we still gathered some information that we were able to use in our making of our music video. Such as what people look for in a music video and what genre of music videos are watched most.
Changing rooms in London!
Because the public toilets had to be payed for, the changing rooms tended to be in parks or on the edge of a street.

Filming Five;
Yesterday we took a day trip to London to film in a range of different places such as; Camden, Trafalgar square, Embankment, Green park and Buckingham Palace. We had slight problems with changing outfits as the only toilets we were able to get hold of you had to pay to get in, so the changing rooms for the day tended to be in parks behind bushes and in a small corner of the street. When filming at Trafalgar square we were approached by security who questioned us on what we were doing, therefore we explained that we were creating a music video for a media project, and we had to show our student passes. After seeing our student cards they allowed us an hour to do what we wanted to do. Our filminig consisted of random dance moves and lip syncing.
Friday, 2 September 2011
Treatment;
The song is about two best friends being together all the time, so that is what our video shall consist of throughout with harley (the 'singer') by herself every now and again with main lip syncing, but in many various locations such as through london, our gardens, parks, etc.
Also Daisy Dares You is 18 years old therefore it fits with us doing this video as we are all only a year younger in age than her.
The main things in which we will need are; Tripod, HD Camera, costume, location,etc.

Filming Four;
Today we were watching music videos and when watching Bombay Bicycle Club's 'shuffle' video we noticed that in this they create a 'human bicycle' we thought that this looked fun and interesting, therefore we decided to remake and create our own human bicycle and film us doing this. This was a very random bit of filming as it was a random inspiration of the day.
To see this human bicycle created by bombay bicycle club watch this video at 2minutes 30 seconds.
We also filmed walking down a strip of grass in the middle of a road, where the main singer was wearing a cardboard box around her body with a Tv drawn on and polaroid pictures in the middle. This was more planned as of location and costume. There were a few problems with the fact that as i was walking whilst filming the camera did not stay very still and therefore we are less likely to use it. We then filmed a short clip of Georgia and Harley doing the 'running man' dance at a bus stop.
The box costume was inspired by a video of Charlie Simpson's as he is holding a Tv while walking down a strip of road. This is the Video;
I like this video because the version on the 'Tv' is contrasted against the reality in the Video.

Filming Three;
Today we filmed breaking, snapping and dropping pink heart shaped biscuits for a part of the song which says Snap, Crack and Fall. We thought that this would look cute and suit the song. We also filmed Georgia and Harley sitting on bins on the grass in the middle of the road picking petals of pink roses.
Tuesday, 9 August 2011
Filming Two;
Today we went to 'the Chase' to film amongst the many horses that you can find there. We filmed from many different angles, each time we filmed the whole song or most of the song so when editing we are able to pick any bits we want of them.
Friday, 5 August 2011
Filming One;
We went to walton-on-the-naze today to begin the filming of our music video, we went to the beach and the pier to carry out this filming. Firstly we wrote 'Rosie' in the sand and filmed it washing away. We then filmed the two main characters running along the beach, in two ways, one keeping the camera in the same place, and the other where I held the camera and ran after the characters running. After this we filmed the characters walking down some stairs and along past the beach huts, we liked this idea as the beach huts are colorful. We then went to the pier and went onto the waltzer and filmed us spinning round on the waltzer. Finally we walked down the pier and filmed the characters walking back.
