searching. . .

So far my group and I have been looking at unsigned artists that could be possible choices for our video. This is quite hard as there are so many artists and we would need a female artist  as we are all girls. Not all of these artists are so good that we would want to use them.

Unsigned.com is a website that provides many unsigned artists to search and listen to. It allows you to select genres in which you may prefer. It also gives things like comment boxes and email addresses to be able to contact the artists.  

Finding the right music;

To carry out a good music video we must consider the music involved. I'm looking on websites such as 'unsigned.com' to find music in which we can use. I can also look at websites such as 'myspace' to search for music. I am using sites like these because we are unable to use music by signed artist as of copyright. However we could use a signed artists song if we ask and they accept. The laws of Copyright state that you must have permission from a signed artist or band to be able to use their music for yourself as they are in ownership of it. 

My Favourite Music Video

I like this video because it is very different and in some parts resembles the classic film of 'Alice in Wonderland.' In some ways it is unoriginal but as it has been made their own I like it. The music is upbeat and I feel that the fast editing of it fits with the music. She is  also singing that she is not someone's number one enemy and there are 'cute' and 'sweet' things surrounding her, showing that she is a nice person and not an enemy. The Lip syncing fits in well with the song, and the main musical instrument in which you can hear is the beat of the drums, but you can her a bit of keyboard as well. 

The Brief

Our task is to create a 'promo' music video up to five minutes. This will be created working in a group. We will also create a CD 'digipak' cover and a magazine advertisement for this digipak. Finally I will carry out a critical evaluation of our piece.
