Evaluation question 4 ;

In the link below I show in a presentaion what tecchnologies and websites I have used throughout this project. I have simply explained what they do and what effects they can give, and how it helped for me.

There is one point In which I realised that I have missed the use of wordle. Wordle creates word clouds, showing words in a fun and colourful way. I have used these when summarising feedback from audience.

Evaluation question 3:

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

The following video is of our interviews about our video for audience feedback;

These are the kind of things they said they liked;

Their favorite parts;

What they would change;

I feel that this is very positive feedback with only a few bad points to our video. I think that this may be because it was a fun a playful video with a lot of energy and colour which made people happier to watch it.

I learned that you can't always have very fast editing on a video, because some of the audience may miss out on what is happening in the video, I also found  out that slight colour editing could make a large improvement.

We also carried out a survey which is on this link:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/P9V7YYK

The results have came to be positive with everyone liking the video.
These print screens show the following survey and the responses given.

Evaluation question 2:

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

To accompany our music video we had been told to create ancillary texts, being a digipak and a magazine advert. This is so it could simulate a famous music video, which comes with it digipak and magazine advert for the album. As these ancillary texts are to accompany the music video they should have similarities to them.

Some of the similarities between our main product and ancillary texts;

 These products have seen to have been very effective as we have had a lot of views of our Music video (main product) and a few good comments through YouTube, both the HD and bad quality version. We asked a few people what they thought of all of the products and they all said that the ancillary texts made them want to watch the video more. These are some other things that they said shown in this word cloud;

What Channel and Time would our video be shown?

Our video is most likely to be shown on a lot of the available music channels, except from something like MTV rocks, this video can be shown at anytime as it is very versatile and suitable for all ages as well as the song. This makes it great for everyone and only the taste of the public's music depends on who watches it.

magazine ad. .

we felt that this advert was not as good as it could have been so another person of our group created a different and better version using photoshop.

This magazine advert is very effective as the pink and yellow colours fit in with the music video and digipak, linking all of the products together. The graffiti font is youthful and therefore is also making it very alike to our music video, it has all the main requirements which seem to be needed for a magazine advert, such as where it can be found available and the name of the song and artist.

Finished video!

Our video in HD;
We had a lot of problems with uploading our finished product to YouTube in HD as we took a while to realise that there was a small piece of audio at the end of our video making the video last for around 20 minutes and therefore it would not upload and we tried cutting the clip on a home computer using 'Windows Movie Maker' which made the quality a lot worse, however we still posted it on YouTube as of the excitement of finishing it. When we next came back to school we removed the sound clip which was found and posted it on YouTube in HD which is the version above. We still have the non-HD version on our Youtube channel as it has so many views, this version is the bad quality version, and you are able to compare the difference between the HD and the bad quality and it is very noticeable.

Album analysis

This Digipak links with the artist at that particular time, her red hair seems to be the inspiration throughout the album. As you can see that it is reflected with her lipstick and all of the red roses.

Digipak!

This is our first draft of of our digipak where i then realised that I did not have any of the other requirement apart from design, and that I had placed some pictures on the wrong place, where the track list and barcode is supposed to be.

This is our final digipak design with all the requirements.

Making polaroids for the digipak. .

Firstly I attempted to create polaroids using photoshop, by opening a new document changing the dimensions, then adding a new layer which was the image, this took a long time to create each image as of working out the dimensions to fit.
This is an example of one of my own made polaroids;

I was then told about a website which made them for you this website is;
www.polaroin.com
 and this is the type of image it came out with;

I feel that this is more authentic and it allows you to tint red, blue or green which also makes it more authentic.

Filming Twelve.

For our last final piece of filming we went to Regents canal in London. We thought the area looked nice as of the grassy surroundings, and the way the sun light hit the water was lovely. The only problem was that it was very cold and it was hard for our 'actress' to seem happy and bubbly as her usual self is.

Editing;

When editing we have used many different tools, that final cut express has provided for us. Such as the Mountain tool which is shown on the image above. This tool enables you to create a fade in and fade out, or fade from one clip to another. We are also able to place different layers to make it easier to alternate from one clip to another, you are also able to see this in a lot of the images above.

Inspiration from 'Kickstarts' by Example;

As you can see we were inspired by this video of Example's 'Kickstarts' as the actress in the video blows bubbles towards the camera and as bubbles can come out very colourful we thought that this would match our video rather well.
